Earthquakes and release letter July 8, 2019

Mom’s note-
We just got Ellaina's release letter and she will be home the end of this month.  Her mission was just changed on her last month so now she is in the California, Riverside Mission.  She is actually living in the same place mission boundaries just changed. Here is her letter.

EARTHQUAKES!
On the fourth of July they did not have us proselytize at all. We did studies, cleaned our apartment, and had our mission President interviews. While we were studying Sister Welker was talking about signs of the second coming of Christ, that there will be earthquakes in diverse places and a bunch of other stuff. As she is talking about it we felt an earthquake. Everything just shook for a minute and then just stopped. I think it was a funny time for it to happen. We then felt another pretty big earthquake the day after and I have felt several small ones. It is good they are not big or close enough to us to be a problem. One lady even called us to make sure that we were ok.

We went to drop off something that a member had lent us and their mom was there watching the kids. She is in our congregation and we had not met her before. She does not really come, so it was cool that she happened to be there when we came.

This story does not really have that much to do with missionary work, but I cut my finger with a cheese grater the other day. To me it looked really gross and bad, but I am amazed at how quickly and well that our bodies heal. It is a lot better already. I am grateful that God has given us our bodies and how they heal.

A lady let us in her house and we were able to visit with her. Then her husband came home from work and we were able to visit with both of them. They were not really interested, but they had a little kitten that sat on my lap. When I moved it would think it was something to chase after.

We visited one family, that we did not think would be very friendly, but they were excited to see us and let us in. We had a nice visit with them.

Love,
Sister Vernon

PICTURES-
Me and a plant that looks like a giant asparagus

View of our area, I am trying to get a picture that shows how big the hill is.

This picture is kind of dark, we were walking through the park and two teenage girls were taking pictures of each other. I asked if they would like a picture of both of them and they said yes. They then asked if we wanted a picture (which is this picture) we then had a really good conversation with them.
