Easter & General Conference

April 2, 2018
We had a zone BBQ on Monday before Sister Grant went home. Our zone was split into two zones this transfer so it was our last time all together. The BBQ was good and we brought cinnamon rolls. It was fun to be outside at the park. We then dropped Sister Grant off at the Mission Office and said goodbye. So now it is just me and Sister Walters.

We had a great time visiting Sister OConnor a lady in our ward that has been in the hospital and now is in a care facility. She is super sweet and we sing her songs every week when we visit.

I had my first run in with some one that bashes the scriptures. He told us that he had read The Book of Mormon and that it teaches all this horrible stuff in it and it is inspired it is not of God. I told him that is not what is written in the Book of Mormon. Sister Walters did a good job of testifying and bearing her testimony. It was an interesting experience and hopefully I get better at responding to those situations.

We have been helping a girl in the ward work on her personal progress so that she can get it before she graduates this year. For her faith project she is memorizing the Living Christ and we are working on memorizing it as well. I am about two and a half paragraph's in.

It was great watching General Conference. We watched most of it at the Stake Center with the other missionaries. Their was a lot of significant announcements. I loved how they said that the changes are so we can love each other more and become more like the Savior. We watched the last session with our investigator Bryan. It was cool when President Nelson announced the temples. Brother Turner who was watching with us was born in the town in India where the temple is going to be built. We taught Bryan a lesson after conference.

For Easter our Zone did a potlock Breakfast before hand. We brought fruit and juice. It was fun. I also hid all the eggs you mailed and Sister Walters found 4 of them, I had to help her find the last two. I also made a little Easter Bunny thing. Sister Birt is a lady in our ward that we do service for. We had dinner with her and dyed Easter Eggs. She like to do everything from scratch so the purple was made with beets and the yellow with onion peels.

Love Sister Vernon

General Conference is when we get to learn from our Prophet and Apostles, if you are interested in checking it out here is a link.  It is a blessing to receive guidance from the Lord through them.
