Hello Family!
We have been helping a lady move throughout the past month. We helped her pack boxes and also to unpack. She is now mostly settled in her new home. We asked if she would like to learn more about Jesus Christ and she said that we can teach her. She is a very nice lady and we hope our lessons go great with her. We also did service picking oranges for a lady in the ward and lining her drawers.

We have been helping one of the Young Women who graduates this year to work on her personal progress. It is fun, but kind of weird because we are basically the same age. We have been working on memorizing the Living Christ with her for her faith project. We also started teaching her how to crochet for a value experience. I love Personal Progress. It takes a lot of work but it builds your testimony and helps you achieve big goals.

We had a training meeting this week. I was asked to play the piano! It is harder to play because I don't really have time to practice. It is good that I have spent a lot of time learning the hymns and how to sight read. I also got to play the piano on Relief Society because the Pianist was gone.

We have been working with a less active named Bruce since I got to California. In fact his house was the very first house that we knocked on in my mission. We have also been teaching his son a little bit who is not a member. Bruce has come to Sacrament two weeks in a row and says that he plans to keep coming! We were able to get his information so that his records can be moved into our ward. He has not come to church since he was a young teenager and it is awesome to see him coming back. I know that his life will improve as he turns to Christ.

I wanted to make salsa and I found all the ingredients but Franks Red Hot, apparently they don't have it in California. They had a bunch of other hot sauces so I tried a different one and the salsa turned out.

Sister Walters and I have been trying to find ways to help Josie and her family. It was amazing that as we have been praying for them we have been able to obtain guidance. They are facing some challenges that make it difficult to be baptized. We made a gift basket with cookies. We wrote quotes from President Nelson's talk, The Book of Mormon, The Bible, and advice from our families. We really wanted to share what the Prophet said in conference and we hope that this way they will read what we shared.

At Church we had the Young Women write their testimonies in Book of Mormons. We told them that either they could give them out or we could once they write their testimonies. We forgot to come back and see if they wanted us to take them. So hopefully all the Young Women will give them out.

We were expecting changes at church because of the announcements during conference. The first thing they did was reorganize the Bishopric which was not what I was expecting. The Bishop is the same but his first councilor is now going to be the Elders Quorum President and the Elders Quorum President is now in the Bishopric. What were the changes in your wards?

I hope you all had a great week love,
Sister Vernon
