The Messiah
APRIL 22, 2019--THE MESSIAH
We went to seminary and made an announcement in one of the classes. I forgot we were going that morning so I got dressed and started exercising. When Sister Rigby came out she was in a dress and was ready to go. So I had to change and we went to the Church. Next week we are doing a breakfast with the kids to invite their friends to. It sounds like some of them have already invited friends.
We had a blitz in our area which means other Missionaries came and worked in our area to help us find people to teach. The Elders found a lady named Liz, that we might be able to teach.
The Church did a big fancy production of Handel's Messiah. We have been inviting a lot of people to come to it for awhile. They had professional soloists and an orchestra. The first night a lady and her daughter came that we have been trying to get in contact with. The second night Irma came. We had a bold lesson this week with Irma and her husband and stopped teaching them. So it was extra special that she came, and felt the Spirit at the Messiah.
We get a lot of visitors in our ward, typically about half the people in attendance are on vacation. So it is hard to know if someone is new or coming for the first time rather then on vacation. There was two girls that came on Sunday. I did not see them, but Sister Rigby noticed them. We wanted to talk to them, but they snuck out before we could. Fortunately another lady talked to them. They are marines and one is a member of the Church that has not been attending. It was cool that they both just showed up and even though we did not talk to them that someone did.
Love, Sister Vernon
