September 3, 2018 -Sharing the Gospel

September 3, 2018

This week we visited Krystal a few times. She is working on getting a temple recommend and the Bishop asked us to teach her the lessons. She has a little one year old around Kate's age named Kathryn. It is easy to teach her because she always testifies about the Gospel.

We had a lesson with Daniel and Gillian. Last week Daniel said that he picked September 13 to get Baptized on. We looked into scheduling the Baptismal font then, but the entire building is being used by the stake. Daniel said they talked about it and decided on Sunday would be better than a Thursday. This was a blessing for us, because we were going to have to tell him that the day he picked would not work. Daniel was unable to come to Church though, because he had to work. He has Sundays requested off, but they keep scheduling him. Gillian came though and meet some of the other ladies in the ward in Relief Society.

Leann and Ezra had their baby blessed in Sacrament yesterday. They were late, and missed the time when they normally do the blessing. They were already doing the testimony part of the meeting. The Bishop got up to announce that they were going to do the blessing, once they all got to church. An elderly lady in the ward was getting up to bear her testimony and nothing was going to stop her. She went up to the pulpit where the Bishop was and started bearing her testimony. The Bishop had to sit back down while she shared her testimony. We visited with her later and she said that when she woke up in the morning she tried to conserve her energy, because she wanted to bear her testimony. She really wanted to share and has a sweet testimony of the Gospel. The blessing of baby Ezra was really sweet and it was good for Leann to see her baby blessed.

We had an interesting Dinner with Sister McLennan this week. She took us out to a Burger place. As we were eating we noticed a car pulled up to the curb across the side of the street. Their were two men getting in and out of the car, and it was clear something was not right. Sister McLennan went to the workers at the Restaurant to call the Police. After about 5 minutes the Police showed up. Then a fire truck showed up, and then an ambulance. They took one of the men in an ambulance. Then a tow truck came and took the car. Then all the trucks, police, and firemen left, leaving the one man and his cat. At this time we had finished eating our burgers. We got in the car and Sister McLennan asked if it was alright if we went and checked on the man. We told her it was alright. We ended up driving him and his cat to the hospital were they had taken his Dad. Their car's airbags suddenly went off and had hurt his father. The Paramedics said their cat could not ride in the Ambulance and so he stayed behind with the cat. He said he had prayed that someone would come help him and give him a ride. We also gave him a Book of Mormon. Sister McLennan said she has never picked someone up like that before, and normally I would not want to, but I think we were prompted and it was something that we needed to do. I am glad we were able to help answer his prayer.

Love,
Sister Vernon
